Product Profile of 480v Transpower Head-end Power Cables

General Cable offers 480V Transpower Head-End Power Cables. All the products of General Cable are manufactured in accordance to ISO 9001:2000. The 480V Transpower Head-End Power Cables have Single Conductor 4/0 AWG and Thermoplastic Elastomer [TPE]-.060 inch nominal wall insulation. Jacket is made of reinforced Neoprene, .085 inch nominal wall and it comes in black colour. This 480V Transpower Head-End Power Cable weighs 872 lbs/1000 ft net. The Cable Core includes 3 conductors and fillers cabled together with a left-hand lay and binder is made of Polyester tape helically applied with a 25% minimum overlap.

These 480V Transpower Head-End Power Cables feature:

• Normal operating temperature: +90°C to -55°C

• Extreme temperature resistance during molding operation: 375°F

• Excellent flexibility; withstands continuous vibrations

• Bend radius: 3.5 inches min as per ICEA S-19-81

These cables are applied in Head-End Power cable used in jumper assemblies locomotive-to-locomotive, locomotive-to-car and car-to-car for transmission of 480V, 3-phase 50/60 Hz and is also designed for heavy-duty service where severe flexing is encountered.
